It is with deep regret that the Medal Society of Ireland announce the sudden death of Michael Denieffe, one of the founding fathers of the Society and its long standing Treasurer. Michael passed away this morning (4th of June) surrounded by his family. 

He was always a great supporter of the Society since he attended the inaugural meeting in 1986 and was given the membership number 6. He only recently represented the Society at the European Conference of Phalerisitic Societies in Vienna. He was a good humoured, good natured individual who never had a bad word to say about anyone and he shall be sadly missed by us all.
